Price & Payment

Puppies from our litters are reasonably priced at $1400, which is well under the market price given their extraordinary lineage and pedigree.

You might wonder why we sell these exceptional dogs at such an affordable price. The reason is that we breed as a hobby and for the joy and satisfaction it brings us and not solely for the income. 

We do limit our litters, however, and our puppies usually go fast. So get in touch today to learn more, reserve your puppy, and take advantage of our fair price for these mild-tempered, smart, and beautiful dogs.​​

How Our Puppy Process Works

If you would like to reserve a puppy from an upcoming litter, we request a $300 deposit to reserve and hold any puppy. However, we ask that you please contact us before putting down a deposit. This allows us to share information with you about the sire and the dam (the parents) of the litter and what we expect as far as colors, temperament, etc. It also provides you with the opportunity to ask us questions.

We not only want you to be happy with your puppy and where he or she comes from, but we also want to know we placed each pup with their (as close to perfect as possible) forever family. Please be sure you are ready to embark on a 12 to 15-year commitment of being a dog owner before you purchase a puppy from us.

Once a dam has been bred and we have upcoming English Labrador Retriever puppies for sale, we first notify all parties who have reserved a pup of the dates they will be available. We notify all parties again once the litter has been born and we have puppy pictures for you to look at. When the puppies are 6 weeks of age you will then be able to choose your puppy. The order of choice follows the order in which the reservation deposits were received for a specific color and sex.

Please note that at any time if we feel a puppy will meet our high standard of breeding quality, we have the option of keeping that puppy no matter whose choice of pick it may be. At that time everyone will move down to the next spot on the list.

Visiting Our Kennel in Richmond, Minnesota

As a small, family-run business, we need to make sure our English Lab puppies remain healthy and free from disease. So to ensure the wellness and safety of our puppies, we do not allow in-person visits to our kennel until a litter is at least 6 weeks old.

​Once the litter has reached the age of 5 weeks, we will contact you to schedule a visit to pick out your puppy (please note: puppies cannot go home with you until they reach 8 weeks, no exceptions). Or, you can select your English Lab sooner through phone conversations and photos to find the puppy that will be the best fit for you.

​Our *Limited* Deposit Refund Policy

Although we always do our best to provide enough healthy and outstanding puppies for everyone who has paid a deposit, things can happen that are beyond our control. For that reason, placing a deposit does not always guarantee a pup from a particular litter. We will give you the choice of moving your deposit to a litter of equal quality and gender or we will happily refund your money. All deposits and payments for any other reason are nonrefundable.

We ask for your understanding and patience as we are in God’s hands regarding everyday life and the birth of our puppies. Your deposit does count toward your total cost, and we will work with you to help ensure you are satisfied when purchasing a puppy from us.

We also realize that sometimes things happen in life, and you simply may not be able to keep your puppy. We always welcome any of our puppies back home here at Companion Retrievers with no questions asked. We are also happy to assist you with advice and resources after you purchase a new puppy from us.

Puppies need time and patience to learn and settle into your family’s home life. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds or replacement puppies simply because you changed your mind or because your puppy didn’t meet your expectations.

Cost and Payment Process

• Puppies are chosen by you in the order by which we receive each party’s $300 deposit.
• For upcoming litters, puppy choices must be made by 6 weeks of age.
• Puppies can go home with you at 8 weeks of age, no exceptions.
• The deposit and remaining balance can be paid through Venmo, PayPal, by check, or in cash. Payments are due at the time you pick up your puppy.
• We are mandated to pay MN sales tax of 6.875% for all puppy transactions made in Minnesota; however, this tax has been embedded into the price of your puppy.
• All puppies are sold with limited registration. If we choose to sell you a pup with full registration for $2500, it will be at our discretion.
• We proudly provide a “Salute to our Service Workers” discount as well as a “Supporting our Friends with Disabilities” discount. You can learn more by visiting our Discounts page.
• Puppies that are left here at Companion Retrievers after 10 weeks of age for any reason will result in a $10 per day boarding fee (no exceptions). The balance owed must be paid in full before your puppy leaves our premises. Also, for all puppies being boarded, there is a nonrefundable $300 boarding deposit on top of your original $300 deposit. This fee assures you will not change your mind and leave an older pup here after we have turned away potential customers. The entire amount will be applied toward the purchase price of your puppy when you pick him or her up.

Companion Retrievers, Inc. reserves the right to have the first pick of any litter.

Companion Retrievers will provide you with our Limited Registration Health Warranty/Buyer Contract, in its entirety, upon request. Contact us with any questions.
